Sridevi demands 1.5 crores to pair with Mohan Babu

While the fees of T-town’s reigning queens Ileana, Anushka, Kajal and Tamanna hover around Rs 1 crore, a production house was reportedly in for a shock when former actress Sridevi demanded a whopping Rs 1.5 crore to act in a Telugu film.
The actress, who is equally popular in Tollywood, has made a recent comeback to films after a 13-year break with English Vinglish. She was approached by the Manchu family to essay the mythological role of Mandodari opposite actor Mohan Babu, who plays the title role of Demon King Raavan in an upcoming big-budget extravaganza scheduled to go on the floors in June.
“The story revolves around King Raavan and portrays the various shades to his character; ardent devotee, loving husband, doting brother and able ruler. We wanted a leading actress to play his wife, but Sridevi shocked us by quoting such a huge amount for just 40 to 45 days of shooting. So we had no choice but to look for an alternative. We are planning to approach Madhuri Dixit, who will also fit well into the revered role,” says a member from the production house.
